22 Weeks

BABY P is one whole pound and the length of a banana! Getting so big!

She loves to move very first thing and late at night. Lots of stretching happening on my right side, which makes sense as placenta is laying on my left side. Keeping track of kicks is hard because she is often still and then all of a sudden active. We are averaging between 30-35 kicks a day though so that is lots of movement!

Had to get some bloodwork done this month to test for bloodsugar levels and hormones. Everything looks good, so now we have to wait for the glucose test for gestational diabetes! Anyone who has ever had a baby knows the "awful" orange drink you have to drink and then sit and wait for them to take your blood! Can't wait (insert eyeroll here)

I have officially had my first "weird" but common pregnancy craving..... PICKLES! Usually I am only a fan of my mom's pickles, but when the craving strikes it doesn't matter where they come from. I definitely didn't crave anything like this with Hayden, so it is interesting to see how different these pregnancies have been. Still have the weird taste thing happening but have just learned to live with it at this point.

My doctor's appt this month went well! I am measuring exactly where I should be, and baby's heartbeat was strong again at 154bpm. This was my last dr appt with my family doctor before baby arrives. From now on I will be meeting with OB's who will deliver Baby P when the time comes.

Other than that I am still feeling good. Not a whole lot of new things happening! Excited for Mom and Dad to come visit so we can get nursery prep started! Mom is going to make Baby P's bedding again, so we will have to do some shopping. Can't wait! Also can't wait for our babymoon to Las Vegas! Lots of things to look forward to in the coming weeks!

Gender Reveal Party

So gender has officially been revealed! But before we get to the good news we want to share our experience in telling everyone Baby P's gender!

After the ultrasound I went to Children's Place and bought a tiny pair of new-born shoes and put them in a box with the ultrasound picture we received. When I got home with Hayden, he and Curtis opened the box along with Grandma and Grandpa, and Nana and Papa watching via Skype. They were all very excited and I will show you the contents of the box in a few minutes with my second post!

Then it was go time! We had wanted to do a gender reveal party after the first ultrasound and find out along with the guests the gender of Baby P. However, due to umbilical cord placement issues we had to postpone the party as we weren't able to decipher Baby P's gender! But now… GAME ON!

I wanted to do a PINK/BLUE theme and make absolutely everything themed this way! To be fun I decided to create a photo booth with props for people to make their guess.  I figured this way people could have some fun and we would have a fun momento to remember them finding out. So I made blue moustaches and pink lips that guests could wear to make their
guess. We put up some streamers for a backdrop and added some hanging accessories to make it playful! Finally there was a sign for guests to hold up with their determination of gender! We wanted to include everyone on this, not just people would could come to the party, so we emailed out the template to family members and friends and we got a number of fun pictures back from them with their guess too! Here are the photos revealing the guesses:

Hayden thought boy even though he has been running around saying "baby sister" the WHOLE time!
Nana thought it was a girl.
Papa thought it was a boy!
 Cioica Courtney thought boy!
 Babcia thought girl!
 Dziadku thought girl too!
 Rascals thought boy!
 Katie thought girl!
Grandpa thought girl all along… Annie was in there! hahaha
 Grandma though girl!
Daddy thought girl!
 I FOR SURE thought boy!
 Erin and Matt thought girl!
Hayden changed his tune the day of the party and thought girl, while Maddie thought boy!
 Lars says girl!
Ben, Georgia and Jodi all think boy!
Erin thinks boy!
Piper thinks boy! Even though she changed her tune the day before the party and then thought girl!

**** WILL UPDATE WHEN I FIGURE OUT HOW TO INCLUDE EVERYONE'S PICTURES FROM INSTAGRAM LATER ****

Anyways we had a ton of fun at the gender reveal party and I had a blast doing the prep work to decorate for this event. Here are some pictures from the party!

Name station: guests could write down names they liked for Baby P and put them into the vases.
Boy/Girl cups… you could take one to guess gender!
 Pink and blue cutlery
 "He" favours
 "She" favours
 "Daddy" decor
 "Mommy" decor
 Hanging decorations
 Banner
Gender reveal cupcakes…. guests had to bite into them to reveal the coloured icing that revealed Baby P's gender!

Overall the party was so fun and it was fun to watch everyone's reactions to Baby P's gender! Check the next post where Baby P's gender will be revealed!!!!!

Gender ultrasound

We went back to have another ultrasound on March 5 to find out Baby P's gender! We used the company UCBaby, which provides just a gender reveal ultrasound for a small fee. It was only 10 minutes which made me feel better as another hour long ultrasound seemed excessive to selfishly find out gender!
Anyways…. Baby P cooperated and we were lucky enough to find out gender at that appointment. Unfortunately Curtis wasn't able to come with me so I found out but then got to surprise him!
After our gender reveal party tomorrow, I will definitely be posting my reveal to him as well as Baby P's gender!
Check back to see!

20 WEEKS… halfway there!!!!!!

WE ARE HALFWAY THERE!

It is so hard to believe that we are at the 20 week mark already! It seems like we were just revealing our news only a few weeks ago!

We have been fortunate enough to have seen Baby P twice now... and once more coming up tomorrow as we have ANOTHER ultrasound for hopefully a gender reveal this time! Cross our fingers that Baby P decides to show the goods!!! And then hopefully we can break the news to you all!

I am finally feeling better with a whole lot less nausea and more energy. I am battling a head cold now which is kicking my butt. Hopefully we can get through it fast!

Baby P is moving and squirming like crazy! I feel constant movement all over the place. With Hayden, my placenta was out front and he wasn't super active so I didn't feel as many movements as I am this time. Within a 30 minute span I can feel movements all over my belly, which is super cool!

My doctor's appt this week gave me some reassurance that all the ultrasound results were great. All the biophysical stuff was good and measurements put us right on track. The heartbeat was still high at 164bpm and I was measuring exactly where I should be.

No weird food cravings as of late and no food aversions. Thankfully the nausea is staying away.... I'm glad to be done with it. I still have the weird taste in my mouth but I've learned to live with it! The vivid nightmares are still hanging around from time to time and believe me they are TERRIFYING!

Beyond that I am super excited to be able to find out gender and get going with nursery decorating and planning for Baby P's arrival. Check back soon to find out GENDER NEWS!!!!!!
